As spring approaches and winter starts to become a distant memory, it’s about time we injected some colour into our outfits. The latest Emma Willis Collection with Next is the perfect spring wardrobe addition – and will be available at The Dolphin Shopping Centre from the 10th March.
The presenter’s latest range features brightly coloured dresses, skirts, swimwear and, for the first time ever, shoes (all designed by the mum-of-three herself). The edit contains over 50 pieces in sizes 6-22 and reflects Emma’s goal of creating a wardrobe that is both stylish and comfortable.
Opening up to colour
After successfully launching five collections with Next already, Emma continues to prioritise style, comfort and affordability. The launch of her sixth collection sees her becoming even more adventurous with colour.
The presenter admits she used to favour more muted and neutral tones in the past but has now challenged herself and started experimenting with colour, something that she’s becoming more comfortable with as she gets older.
“In winter it’s navy, black, cream, white – simple colours – and then summer comes and I’m a different human. Bright colours, patterns… as the years tick by I’m embracing much more.”
The edit consists of beachwear, brightly coloured dresses, jumpsuits and suits. The dresses are Emma’s favourite pieces.
“I would say my favourite pieces in this collection are surprisingly all the dresses. I honestly think we’ve nailed it. They’re really easy to wear, really versatile, you can wear them to work or out to drinks, they cover up in all the right places. I am for the first time in my life saying that dresses are my favourite bit.”
The latest collection is also very versatile, featuring pieces that are appropriate for work and evening events. The brightly coloured blazers, jackets and trousers can be worn together or styled separately – depending on the look you’re going for.
Venturing into footwear
Previous collections have featured lingerie, jewellery and more recently, sportswear, but this latest edit sees Emma try her hand at designing footwear for the first time.
The sandals in the collection are all simple, comfortable and easy-to-wear in keeping with her own personal preferences.
“With sandals, I like something that’s super simple and flattering on the legs. I tend to wear flats more in the summer.”
Seemingly unafraid to step out of her comfort zone when it comes to her career in fashion design (despite admitting previously she’d “combust” if she worked as a full-time designer), Emma shows herself to be a fearless mother and career woman.
She’s gone from presenting to midwifery to fashion design – and with each collection strives to try something new or different.
The mum-of-three is keen to instil a sense of adventure in her daughters too – and also places importance on compassion and kindness, something that she speaks about in a recent interview.
“I would like them to know their worth. I want them to be strong in body and mind but also kind and compassionate and caring – I suppose all the things I feel I got from my mum, I hope that they will have got from me and from my mum.”
