October half term engineering experiments for children at the Dolphin Shopping Centre

 

The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole has partnered with EXplora Science and Borough of Poole to bring real engineering experiments to its Eco Hub during October half term.

Aiming to increase children’s interest in STEM subjects, Dr. Rubey Goldeberg’s ‘Experimental Fun Factory’ will be at the Dolphin Shopping Centre offering the following sessions:

·       Tuesday October 23 – 10am, 11.45am, 1.45pm and 3.30pm
·       Wednesday October 24 – 10am, 11.45am, 1.45pm and 3.30pm
·       Thursday October 25 – 10am, 11.45am, 1.45pm and 3.30pm
·       Friday October 26 – 10am, 11.45am, 1.45pm and 3.30pm
·       Saturday October 27 – 10am, 11.45am, 1.45pm and 3.30pm

Children will be given the chance to try out all kinds of engineering experiments to make chain reactions. Each session lasts for 90 minutes and costs £3.50 per child (aged 4 and above) Children must be accompanied by an adult (at no cost).

John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “If you’re looking for something fun and educational for the little ones to do during half term, then this is perfect. We’re delighted that Dr. Rubey Goldeberg is joining us for a series of workshops and look forward to welcoming him.”

EXplora Science is an education charity project, established to set up a Science, Technology and Discovery Centre in Dorset. The project aims to provide engaging and stimulating science for children to help them develop enquiring minds and a lifelong ability to be problem solvers.
